The Strasburg Rail Road Boiler Shop is the first steam locomotive repair shop in the United States to receive ASME “S” Stamp and NBIC “R” Stamp certifications. This means our boiler components are built in accordance with the requirements of the ASME and NBIC which is the national and international construction and repair standards.

ASME S Stamp Certification:

The ASME S Stamp certification, issued by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), is a mark of quality and compliance for the design, fabrication, and inspection of power boilers, including those used in steam locomotive engines.

NBIC R Stamp
